This page defines the words you'll see most often across the Raal portal. Each term links to a deeper article where one exists.

Orders and shipping

  • Order (shipment). One request to move one or more devices from a collection address to a delivery address. You create orders in the Place order wizard. See How to place a shipment order.

  • Collection address. The pickup location: where Raal collects the device, and where Raal delivers the empty transport box when it supplies the packaging.

  • Delivery address. The destination the device is shipped to. See Setting collection and delivery addresses.

  • Recipient. The person a transport order delivers the device to.

  • Box delivery. The shipment of the empty Raal transport box to the collection address, when Raal supplies the packaging.

  • Device delivery. The shipment of the device itself to the delivery address.

  • Express vs Economy. The shipping speed you choose for box delivery and device delivery. Express is faster and costs more. See Express vs Economy: when to use each.

  • Raal packaging vs your own packaging. Whether Raal ships a transport box for the device or you pack it yourself. Using your own packaging skips the box delivery.

  • Accessory. An extra item added to a package, such as headphones, a mouse, a keyboard, or cables.

  • Customs clearance. The paperwork Raal handles so a device can cross a border. It applies to international shipments.

  • Internal reference (PO number). An optional code you attach to an order so it shows up on invoices and exports. See Internal reference and PO numbers.

Plans, OPS, and billing

  • OPS credits - The virtual credits the platform uses to charge for actions like shipments, customs clearance, and data exports. See What are OPS credits and how do they work?

  • OPS consumption - How many OPS each action costs. See How OPS are consumed.

  • Top-up - A one-off pack of OPS you buy at any time. Top-up OPS never expire and are used before your subscription OPS. See Buying additional OPS.

  • PAYG (pay as you go) - The free tier with no monthly fee and no included OPS. You pay per shipment. See PAYG vs subscription.

  • Subscription tier - A paid plan (Starter, Pro, or Business) that includes a monthly OPS allocation and a lower per-OPS price. See Subscription plans explained.

  • Payment policy - When you pay for an order: at order placement, after fulfilment, or on a monthly consolidated invoice. See Payment policies.

  • Stripe customer portal - The secure Stripe page where you add your legal name, billing address, tax ID, and payment cards. See Setting up your billing details.

People and inventory

  • Roles (Admin, Editor, Viewer) - What a teammate can do. Admins manage the account, Editors place and manage orders, Viewers can only look. See Roles explained.

  • Holder - The person a device is currently assigned to in the Assets inventory.

  • Asset - A company device tracked in the Assets section, with details like model, serial number, status, condition, and its current holder.
